About the Atlantic Canada Virtual Archives

The ACVA is a joint initiative of Margaret Conrad, Canada Research Chair in Atlantic Canada Studies, and the Electronic Text Centre, both based at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton. Designed to showcase some of Atlantic Canada's rich archival sources, the ACVA currently features four digital collections.

Project Directors

Margaret Conrad, Canada Research Chair in Atlantic Canada Studies, and Lisa Charlong, Assistant Director of the Electronic Text Centre, direct the development of the Atlantic Canada Virtual Archives. Please contact the directors with questions or comments about the ACVA or its collections.

Contributors

Each collection featured in the ACVA is developed by a team of people who transcribe, image, and encode the documents for online delivery, design websites, and coordinate these diverse activities. See the "About" menu of each collection website for a detailed list of contributors.

This project was made possible in part through the Canadian Culture Online Program of Canadian Heritage and by an anonymous donor. Support, both financial and in kind, has been provided by UNB Libraries, the Electronic Text Centre, the Canada Research Chair in Atlantic Canada Studies, and the Vice-President (Research), all based at the University of New Brunswick.

The ACVA also relies on the support of participating repositories:

Advisory Board

The ACVA is supported by an advisory board whose support is gratefully acknowledged:
