The Letters: Imaging and Transcription
Return to The Letters
This project reunites the McQueen family correspondence in one virtual archive. All of the original documents in the four repositories where they are housed - the Nova Scotia Archives and Records Management, the British Columbia Archives, the Nicola Valley Museum Archives Association, and the Rossland Museum & Archives - have been imaged. While most of the letters are written by a well-schooled hand and are therefore easy to read, transcription facilitates computerized searches. The correspondence has been transcribed and about half of it (1866-1888) has been encoded. In the near future, we hope to encode the rest of the letters. The scrapbooks and drawings are best consulted in their imaged form.
