Edward Winslow (1746-1815) was an army officer, politician, judge, office holder and author.
He fought on the British side during the American Revolutionary War. When the war ended in 1783, he and his family became refugees.
He took his family to Nova Scotia and later helped to create the colony of New Brunswick in 1784.
After his death in 1815, he was buried in the Loyalist cemetery in downtown Fredericton.
He wrote hundreds of letters during his life, and we can read many of them today. He was a passionate and gifted writer, and quite a romantic too.
