The controversy over whether Australian author Colleen McCullough's novel 'The Ladies of Missalonghi' (1987) was plagiarised from Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery's novel 'The Blue Castle' (1926) is discussed. The similarities between the novels' stories and settings are presented, as also the difference in the characterisation of McCullough's heroine.
